Just playing around with caricatures and trying to exaggerate features! She reminds me of a muppet...

Lily Allen doodle

Damon and I were talking about doing a personal project based off a Lily Allen song we really dig... here's just a character design of Lily that I was playing around with!

The Great Debate

Just some doodles from watching the presidential debate tonight... Some success drawing Obama; not sure McCain looks identifiable or not...

VP debate & Palin BINGO!

When you really pay attention to the words she says, it's surprising how she dances around certain phrases. Both my mom and Damon had different Palin Bingo cards as well, and we all came within one box of winning. Gee gosh golly!

(although if you were allowed to use both the moderators and Biden's verbage, you could have totally had a field day filling out the card. Recommendation; use "Maverick" as a key word in a drinking game next time. Seriously.)

I like the doodle of her winking the best, i think...

Guilty Pleasure

So, my guilty pleasure (and what should have been my Illustration Friday entry for "Fierce" way back when) is America's Next Top Model, which is total junk food television, but OH SO AWESOME. Add in a drinking game, and you have some quality bonding time with the reluctant boyfriend. Extra added bonus- they have a pre-op transgender this season! drama!

Anyway, this is my ode to Ty Ty (or, as you may know her off the ANTM forums, Tyra Banks), which we all know the show is really about anyways...

Project Runway characters

Been tuning in to Project Runway this season (finally!) and felt like drawing a few of the characters...

I like Stella's punk style, but depending on how she's edited, I either love her or she annoys me. I do like everything she does, clothes wise, although sometimes she whines a bit much, but overall- rock on girl!  The hammer is for her to work her leather and grommets with...

I love Korto's look- I think I could have pushed this drawing more with her eyes and hair; maybe next time! Think she's a great designer and I usually have her in my top favorite designs, although I think the pressure gets to her sometimes.

I used to like Kenley, but the more I see of her, the more I really don't like her. I love her physical appearance and her personal sense of fashion (love those roses and feathers in her hair!!), but I get the sinking suspicion she's not so pretty on the inside, from the snide comments and catty attitude she has.  Every week turns me more and more off of her!

Hooked on Dexter

Still working on learning cariactures- trying to figure out the fine line between "cliche" cariactures and what makes good /interesting character design (i.e. big fan of John K and Jorge Gutierrez's styles, as well as Miss Marlo who I've mentioned before)...

As you may (or may  not) be able to figure out, I've  become a recent fan of Dexter (watching Season 1 right now)- such a great show! Love Michael C Hall's acting and his depction of the main character- also, very fun to draw : )

I (heart) Olivia Munn!

I'm a big fan of G4's Attack of the Show, which is a fun, quirky daily show about random silly and geeky tech news.  One of the co-hosts is the ever-adorable Olivia Munn, who I saw twice down at Comic-Con- she's just as cute in person!  I love her sense of humor- she seems like she'd be a cool gal to hang out with.

Anyway, still working on my caricature skills- drew this while watching AoTS this evening..  enjoy! : )

Illustration Friday: "Poof" plus bonus drawing!

Here's my piece for this week's Illustration Friday's theme, "Poof," and what better way than a cute genie appearing POOF! out of her lamp?

Also, extra bonus drawing! I'm trying my hand at getting better at caricatures (getting inspired by the lovely Marlo Meekins)- here's a quick caricature of my sister.

Also, a quick shout-out to all the great bloggers I met today at the Bloggers Lunch! It was great to meet and see everybody! : D

Ay chihuahua!

Was inspired by this cute little statuette I got of a black chihuahua last year in Tijuana when Damon and I went down to the San Diego Comic-Con... looking forward to going again to Comic-Con this year! : D (and maybe another trip south of the border!)
