The Girls Drawin Girls blog theme this week is "Scorpio," so here's my doodle for it!

PIRATES!!!

Our figure drawing model tonight at Film Roman was dressed as a pirate, and he had tons of props! (and a musical score to boot! we drew to music from Hook, Treasure Island, and probably a few of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies).

 It was, in one word, awesome.

New Vintage Coat!

Found a wonderful 1960s vintage coat this weekend- got to wear it out today and felt SO cute in it, so I had to do a drawing about it!

Making her feelings known

I think my pony was a bit unhappy with me today- she was a bit of a grouch, but the clincher was when I put her away and went to go pet her and she gave me the cold shoulder- in horse speak, turning their butt to you, pinning their ears, and in no uncertain terms saying "Leave me alone."

: ( She didn't even want her treat! I think she might be mad at me for going on winter vacation for so long... it made me feel sad that she was unhappy towards me, but she eventually let me pet her and her grouchyness seemed to fade away.

Snow Bunting

Just practicing with colored pencils and markers. Many thanks to Crystal for teaching me about colorless blenders (it's the little things they never teach you in art school... )

Indian goddess

Inspired a little bit Durga, but instead of weapons, little handfuls of fire. Took a bit of reference from Kali as well- but mostly the headdress... Enjoy!

Peacock, color study

Went back to try and re-work the earlier peacock with color, but didn't like the composition, so tried a different angle and approach- really like the marker/ colored pencil combo. Very happy with this result! I need to get some light colored markers for more background color bases (more than yellow, orange and green, anyway)
