Peppermint Geisha. It would make a lot more sense if it was colored in.

Shark week- random shark! (Friday's post)

I wasn't online to see which type of shark was for today, so I just drew a fun generic shark. Whoo!

Shark Week- Goblin Shark!

Today's Shark Week theme is the Goblin Shark, who suffers from the indignity of being one of the more unattractive shark species.

The first drawing was just trying to be a somewhat cute grinning Goblin Shark, and then i said, screw it, there are no overtly cute cartoon versions of these guys anywhere on the web, so let mine be the first! Introducing the newest and soon to be the most popular amongst the kids, Mr Goblin Shark!

Oceanic White-Tip shark

My friend Kristen has started a "shark a day" challenge for this week, which is Shark Week!

Today's shark is Oceanic White Tip. They have oversized front fins, and seem to be constantly surrounded by little pilot fish...

Speaking of sharks and shark week, I watched this short feature about the danger that sharks are currently facing from overfishing and exploitation... I highly recommend you check it out!

Adventures in the Natural History Museum 12/26

Went into Washington DC for a few days and had lots of fun exploring the Mall and the Smithsonian museums. Got to hang out at the Museum of Natural History and check out all the fun exhibits!

Swimming with sharks

Read an interesting article in my Smithsonian about great white sharks and about how they can be quite curious and intelligent, and how an experienced shark diver took a short ride on one's fin off of South Africa... this is more like a mermaid and her pet tiger shark, but there's the original inspiration!
