Betta Mermaid
You would think my love for mermaids and for Betta Fish would have resulted in this drawing way before now, but yes, it did take this long to combine the two.

Mr. Pink the betta
This is a watercolor study of an old betta i used to have who's long since passed; he was one of the original three I first had (I have had many, many bettas over the years; I'm currently down to around 9 at the moment)- I loved his coloration because it was this soft pastel pink and purple, and I used to keep him in a bowl with a fake rubber anemone that he loved hiding in.

More underwater color studies

Some more variations on the buddha head under water- still just a rough color study, but I think this one better defines lights/darks and doesn't compromise color saturation in the statuary.

speed painting
More a color study than anything- not tons of detail, but trying to get the underwater ambiance combined with warmer colors from sunken ruins/statuary. i might come back to this theme and re-work it- I'd like to eventually do a nice "underwater sunken head" piece that's more finished...
