Dumbo octopus

Another from Claire Nouvian's excellent photography book of deep sea creatures, "The Deep." Also known as the glowing sucker octopus.

It may seem abstract...

But it's actually a sea cucumber called the "Deep Sea Spanish Dancer." Referenced from a great book, "The Deep," by Claire Nouvian it's a fantastically beautiful photo essay on deep sea photography- every page looks like some sort of exotic alien. Me, I think the deep sea spanish dancer looks like a floating heart. But hey! There you go. Enjoy!

little squid

I read today that there's a squid called the "googley eyed glass squid," so that seemed like a fun thing to draw.. it's a bit rough, 'cause i'm feeling under the weather today
