Daruma doll

Just a quick drawing of a daruma doll from Japan; they are modelled after Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen. When you get them, their eyes are white blanks, and you fill in one eye thinking of a wish. If the wish later come true, the second eye is filled in. They also symbolize optimism, persistence, and strong determination. (source; wikipedia)

Oh, cool! I have one of those, I did the eye thing when I was making my first film. (And then I whited the eye out the next year so I could do it again. Now the whiteout has faded, so he has one black pupil and one sorta cloudy grey pupil. I guess Daruma glaucoma is a mixed message.)
